A Staff Accountant is needed for a growing, progressive, award winning state-wide transportation company offering mid-sized buses, a wide variety of passenger coaches, and 56-passenger luxury coaches for events of all kinds, such as Wine Tours, Weddings, Visiting Athletic Teams, Ski Shuttles, or Sightseeing Tours, we are the premier transportation provider in the state.

 

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our exceptional Accounting & Finance team. The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the core accounting team, responsible for various areas affecting the continuous integrity of GL accounts. It is essential that s/he be deadline-oriented, have effective time management skills, and practice attention to detail as a matter of course. This is a full-time position reporting to the Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage AP for three company Divisions
• Bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts (in Excel and in QB)
• Use of an Excel functions that code and filter hundreds of monthly credit card transactions
• Support Assistant Controller in maintaining reconciliation schedules of balance sheet accounts
• Assist in maintaining documentation for external auditors
• Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the Assistant Controller or the Controller

Skills and Experience:
• Associates Degree in Accounting
• 3+ years' experience in accounting
• Thorough understanding of basic accounting procedures
• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
• Intermediate MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables required
• Very strong skills in all aspects of QuickBooks Enterprise required

• Strong skills in paperless in an Accounting environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to learn new aspects of accounting and financial reporting on the job
• Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
