ABOUT US: Ventures is a Seattle-based nonprofit that empowers aspiring entrepreneurs with limited resources and unlimited potentialto improve their lives through small business ownership. We provide access to business training, capital, coaching and hands-on learning opportunities for entrepreneurs. We serve those in our community for whom traditional business development services are out of reach, with a focus on women, people of color, immigrants, and individuals with low income. Our ultimate goal is to support individuals to increase their income potential, achieve long-term financial stability, and provide for their families, and enrich their communities through small business ownership.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to support Ventures Business Incubation strategies for micro-businesses in the food, product, and service industries. This position will play a key support role in the Programs Department by working with multiple program staff on implementing incubation programming such as commercial kitchen coordination, support of our retail incubator in the Pike Place Market, supporting Ventures pop-up and access to markets events, and working to increase access and awareness of the Ventures online business directory and e-commerce site.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned as needed.
 Manage the scheduling, onboarding and technical assistance for commercial kitchen participants;
 Work to expand the network of affordable commercial kitchens for food businesses through the development of community partnerships and networking;
 Support new access to markets opportunities for food businesses;
 Leverage incubation partnerships and opportunities, such as farmer’s markets and the Ventures retail store to advance clients’ businesses;
 Prepare for and coordinate food business client showcases at events or parties;
 Implement program evaluation systems (i.e. surveys, etc.) for food incubation;
 Collaborate with Product Client Services Manager and Retail Store Manager on retail incubation projects such as client signage, client demos, and the implementation of a robust customer engagement program;
 Support with store events, and other public awareness activities related to the retail store incubation activities;
 Prepare for and coordinate client showcases at events or parties;
 Work with Service Business Specialist to leverage incubation programs such as the Ventures business directory to advance clients’ businesses;
 Support with the design and implementation of a digital marketing incubation project which will include logo and collateral design for service, food, and product businesses.
 Identify other access to markets opportunities and incubation activities to support service businesses;
 Work with Data & Impact Specialist to establish a system to evaluate e-commerce and business directory programs for effectiveness to ensure proper client support;
 Collaborate with the Director of Programs to expand the reach of Ventures’ programs by establishing and implementing evaluation standards for Ventures Network consulting projects;
 Work with Communications Department to tell the story of Ventures incubation programs through creative storytelling such as blogs, video storytelling, social media content, and client success stories 

 Passion for small business and entrepreneurship, possesses an innovative mindset;
 Written and verbal Spanish language skills;
 Experience & familiarity with commercial kitchens & commercial kitchen equipment;
 Experience working with diverse, vulnerable communities and possesses ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, income levels, etc.
 Sensitivity in speaking about confidential personal and business circumstances;
 Detail-oriented work style;
 Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Strongly Preferred:
 Current or previous small business ownership;
 Experience in microenterprise development, small business development, asset building, financial empowerment, or related industry;
 Experience in business incubation best practices or other relevant experience 

The employee must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment, speak and listen on the telephone, and accurately see and interpret columns of numbers.

Compensation Package
 Pay Range: $17-20/hr. ($35,360- $41,600/year) We maintain a competitive compensation package; within budget constraints, you will be eligible for performance-based raises on an annual basis.
