For the first YPP event of the year, we're going to kick off 2019 with a fun night of conversation and comedy at Unexpected Productions in Pike's Place Market! Our attendees can expect a laid-back mixer featuring appetizers, local craft beer, and roughly 100 other of Seattle's LGBTQ young professionals. At the bottom of the event, Unexpected Productions will treat us to a side-splitting performance including classic improv games, songs, and stories created with audience engagement.
For 35 years, Unexpected Productions Improv has presented shows that are edgy, thought-provoking and always spectacularly funny. Improv Unplugged is a culmination of those 35 years of experience with the most talented improvisers in the Puget Sound. It’s a show that has never been seen before and will never be seen again. It’s Improv Unplugged!
As the show wraps up at 8:00 pm, guests are welcome to stay for a FREE performance of The Harold - a hilarious improv jam session beginning at 8:30.

About Unexpected Productions
The foundation for Unexpected Productions was laid when TheatreSports™ was first performed in Seattle in 1982. In 1983, Seattle TheatreSports™ began performing on Monday nights at Swannie’s Comedy Underground. From there, with a small but loyal audience, the Troupe moved and/or added shows at Pioneer Square Theater, Scoundrel’s Lair, and The Group Theater, where our audience increased.
In 1988, with the founding of Unexpected Productions as a Non-Profit Theater, the company moved from the Group to the Intiman Playhouse.
In May 1991, Unexpected Productions moved into it’s own home at the Market Theater in the Pike Place Market, where sell out crowds have enjoyed their work ever since. In the last ten years, they have produced three ongoing shows, over forty original season shows, and over forty long form improvisational shows.
Unexpected Productions is Seattle’s oldest, and most successful Improvisational Theater Company. Today, Unexpected Production is producing a wide array of improvisational-based theater for Seattle audiences, and has developed a worldwide reputation for high quality improvisation. Comedic in style, Unexpected Productions focuses on the art of storytelling in its work. They have performed in New Zealand, Australia, Holland, Germany, Canada, and all over the United States.
How do I get there?
Unexpected Productions’ Market Theater is located downtown in Pike Place Market, in the heart of Seattle’s Tourist District.
On foot, go to the main entrance of the Pike Place Market at 1st and Pike. There, you’ll find Rachel, Pike Place Market’s full-sized brass piggy bank, beneath the neon sign and clock, right by the famous Pike Place Fish Company. From the pig, go down the stairs and around the corner into Post Alley, where you’ll find the Unexpected Productions at the Market Theater, along with the famous Gum Wall!
