Donor Stewardship and Data Manager
Attention! This position cultivates and stewards low to mid-level individual donors, plus foundation and corporate partners to create a diverse funding pipeline to meet annual revenue goals, and to promote deeper donor/partner engagement and longterm retention. Ensures that the agency fundraising database is maintained with accuracy, and that gifts are processed and acknowledged in a timely and professional manner. Represents the values and mission of New Beginnings to the community with compassion and integrity.
40 hours/week, primarily Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend commitments.
$45,000 + DOE; medical, dental and vision benefits for employee; life insurance; retirement contribution; generous paid time off; professional development allowance. This is and exempt position.
Individual Donors (50%)
• Design and implement an annual donor stewardship and solicitation plan that is creative, innovative and individualized.
• In partnership with the Development and Executive Directors, identify and create a cultivation plan for low to mid-level donors with the potential to become qualified major donors.
• Prepare accurate and timely revenue records for all donations, including monthly and workplace giving and matching gifts. Create thank-you letters, pledge reminders, and other donor correspondence utilizing Raiser’s Edge.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Raiser’s Edge donor database. Coach team members in using best practices for maintaining the database.
• Reconcile contributed income with accounting.
• Produce custom reports and mailing lists as needed and requested.
• Engage donors in peer-to-peer fundraising.
Foundation Partnerships and Grant Proposals (25%)
• Proactively manage cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for foundation giving. Identify Page 2 prospects and research interest and giving potential.
• Maintain an accurate grants calendar and grant records in the Raisers Edge database.
• Research grant opportunities and procure application and report materials. The Marketing and Communications Manager will play a key role in writing grant narratives. This position will ensure all grant materials are collected and submitted in a timely manner.
• Write and submit grant reports to grant funders as required.
Corporate Partnerships (20%)
• Proactively manage cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for corporate giving. Identify prospects and research interest and giving potential.
• In consultation with the Development Director, set goals, track progress throughout the year and course correct as needed to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
• Collaborate with Development Team to evaluate corporate partner benefits as they align with funder values and explore new benefit opportunities.
• Work closely with the Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator to initiate corporate employee training opportunities, manage corporate volunteer groups and create new opportunities for employee engagement, including for events.
• Lead the growth of corporate giving activities including annual back to school and holiday in-kind donation drives, workplace giving campaigns, and matching programs. • Actively seek opportunities to involve and thank funders as well as educate them about New Beginnings’ goals and mission.
Department and Agency Support (5%)
• Collaborate with the Development Team on the creation of annual development plans and goals.
• Participate in staff meetings, planning days and agency trainings.
• Participate in professional fundraising training opportunities.
• Provide back-up for administrative office staff: answering phones, receiving visitors, collecting and sorting daily mail. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Development Director or the Executive Director.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, fund development, or other related field. Experience may substitute for education.
At least three (3) years in fund development, with an emphasis in project management and/or donor relations preferred.
• Other Qualifications:
o Ability to communicate in a gracious and professional manner with diverse donors and internal stakeholders.
o Demonstrated excellent task management skills.
o Ability to utilize data and metrics to inform strategy.
o Team player with demonstrated leadership skills.
o Proficient working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or other donor database and Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and Publisher).
o Detail-oriented. Ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a professional manner.
o Willingness to learn about and promote equity and social justice within and outside of New Beginnings.
o A dependable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
