Description

GenPride is seeking an Administrative Assistant to be a part of our growing team that provides specialized services for LGBTQ seniors. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and phone skills and possess an outgoing, friendly personality. This position will provide administrative assistance to our team and be the first contact for our LGBTQ seniors who contact our agency. Summary: Provides administrative support to the organization’s staff and manages a variety of general office activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for administrative duties such as opening/sorting incoming and outgoing mail/arranging, filing, schedule repairs/maintenance of office equipment and providing general administrative assistance for staff.
  • Acts as liaison with staff, board members, public, interns, and volunteers.
  • Collects, compiles, records or otherwise gathers data and prepares standard reports with information necessary for decision-making.
  • Responsible for placing and tracking purchasing of supplies and special orders.
  • Answers phone calls, responding independently when possible, or directing response to the appropriate staff, and manages response and follow through.
  • Maximizes office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications.
  • Follows procedures for systematic maintenance and organization of administrative office filing.
  • Maintains master contracts/records and archives relevant monthly correspondence
  • Maintains internal directories
  • Taking notes and minutes in meetings

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent education
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Previous work experience in a similar role

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including people of color and other culturally diverse populations
  • Experience entering/maintaining data in Salesforce or similar CRM database preferred
  • Knowledge of unique challenges faced by LGBTQ older adults

Benefits

Part-time 24 hours/week

Pay range: $18-20/hour

Generous paid time off and flexbile scheduling
