Featured Guests: Anthony & Marlie Love
from Traveling While Black
Originally from the St. Louis, MO area, Anthony and Marlie moved to Seattle in 2019. In the Midwest, there were some places that black people just don't go and shouldn't go. They didn't know where those places were in the Pacific Northwest (no matter how much they Googled). So, they decided to create a show to help people that feel the same way as them, and to ease any reservations about traveling. Originally focused on places around the Seattle area and the Pacific Northwest, now, Anthony and Marlie go to places all over the world and let you know if we feel comfortable as black people visiting for the first time. We will chat about how they are becoming YouTube sensations, and some dos and donts to ensure your business and neighborhood stay welcoming.
Be sure to stay online until the end when we'll give away tickets to MoPop's (MUSEUM OF POP CULTURE) newest exhibition, Ruth E. Carter: Afrofuturism in Costume Design
. Oscar-Winner Ruth E. Carter’s costumes from more than a dozen films, including Black Panther, Malcom X, and Coming 2 America, will be on display in this exhibition exploring her perspective on Afrofuturism: the application of knowledge intertwined with imagination, self-expression, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
