Our latest Hill Talk was nothing short of a culinary journey, and we couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop than a/stir. Formerly known as Capitol Cider, this Capitol Hill gem has transformed its space, blending century-old brick with contemporary art and a fresh, inviting palette that instantly makes you feel at home.

Guests mingled, sipped on a complimentary drink, learned some big news about GSBA: Capitol Hill, and enjoyed Mediterranean-meets-Pacific Northwest bites that left our taste buds dancing. Think Spanish, French, and Italian influences, all from a dedicated gluten-free kitchen—truly a delight for everyone.

But let’s talk about the space! a/stir’s downstairs bar is more than just a cozy corner; it’s a versatile event space perfect for your next book reading, work gathering, or private party. With over 3,200 sq. ft. of space, including a stage and a full bar plus kitchen, it can accommodate events for 20 to 150 people. Whether you’re planning something intimate or grand, this spot offers the right vibe and flexibility to make it happen. For booking information, please contact a/stir at info@astirseattle.com.

Meet the Team Behind a/stir

What makes a/stir even more special is the vision of its talented team. Executive Chef and General Manager, Ton Yazici, brings a rich culinary background shaped by years of passion and expertise. Having managed the Seattle Tennis Club’s food and beverage program, instructed at the Seattle Culinary Academy, and co-founded Locus Wines’ food-forward tasting room, Ton knows how to create a dining experience that leaves an impression.

Joining him is Rich, the winemaker and the other co-owner of Locus Wines! With a finance degree from the University of Washington and an Oenology certificate from Washington State University, Rich seamlessly blends his corporate expertise with his passion for wine. Together, they have built a/stir into not only a dining destination but also a vibrant community space.

So, if you’re in the mood to host, consider this stylish, welcoming venue that blends history with modern touches. And if you couldn’t attend, don’t worry! We’ve got another exciting Hill Talk coming up at Koko’s Restaurant and Tequila Bar in December, and a/stir’s door is always open for a dining adventure of your own.
