Not Just A Party!
Equalux 2023 was an unforgettable evening full of connection, community and support for the GSBA scholars and future leaders. GSBA raised over $875,000.00 to benefit the GSBA Scholarship & Education Fund, including both one-time and multi-year gifts!
Over 600 guests mixed and mingled with old friends and new. Attendees participated in our silent auction, live auction and unique special features like our Emerald Ticket raffle, pride mystery bags, wine grab, Car Pros Kia photobooth and finished the evening with a delicious four-course meal and entertainment from our Emcee/Host: Adra Boo; Auctioneer: Sasha Summer Cousineau; and a powerhouse performance from Seattle Choruses ensemble: The Pitch Crew.
The following are highlights that made Equalux 2023 extra special:
In 2023, there have been 574 of anti-trans bills introduced into legislation across our country, making it a record year. On Saturday, we turned this darkness into hope for the future by coming together and supporting the GSBA Scholarship & Education Fund at a specially introduced $574 level, with matching funds from our Annual Leadership Matching Fund from our amazing Board of Directors
We proudly launched our new Workforce Development Scholarship at an $11,000 level supporting scholars for 2-year degrees in much needed trade industries with GSBA’s very own President and CEO, Ilona Lohrey, and her wife being the first to donate and kick off this much needed funding.
Finally, in a moment of amazing synergy between our Scholarship and Chamber business communities, GSBA Member Kevin Spratt, Owner of Precision Garage Door stepped up during the ask at the end of the evening and made an unbelievable donation of $200,000 to support the future leaders in our program. We cannot thank Kevin enough for this amazing gift.
