Everyone give a big welcome to GSBA’s newest staff member, Rory Nowicki (he/they)!

Joining GSBA as our Membership Development Manager, Rory will be leading the way for engagement opportunities with new and existing members. After receiving his Master of Community & Business Sociology from Southern New Hampshire University, Rory found himself in Chicago. In 2017, drawn by better weather and career access, Rory made his move to Seattle and was immediately drawn to GSBA.

“GSBA was what welcomed me to Seattle with open arms in 2017 as I attended several of their networking events to meet others in the field I was [working in] at the time. Some of those connections I made during those events are still going strong today. What drew me to GSBA was the incredible history this organization has had on the LGBTQIA+ community here in Seattle and the surrounding areas – its ongoing mission to help small (and big) owned queer businesses thrive is something that is so close to my heart as a queer individual.”

Rory is so excited to help connect the LGBTQ+ businesses and build community:

“I’m so excited to meet more queer and allied business owners so I help highlight the great work they’re doing for other businesses and their consumers as well. I think more than anything, I’m looking forward to building more of the queer community in the greater Seattle areas and continuing the conversation of how to build a more inclusive business community.”

An avid foodie, Rory loves to spend time exploring Seattle with his partner and their dog, Orion. When he’s not exploring Seattle or his own culinary talents, Rory likes to patron Biang Biang Noodles:

“I’m a big fan of Biang Biang Noodles; I probably go there at least twice a month when I’m in the area. The food, the atmosphere and the staff are definitely what keeps me coming back. It’s a great spot to go to with friends and connect over great food!”

Welcome, Rory, GSBA is so thrilled you’re here!
