About the Neighborhood
Capitol Hill has the highest concentration of small businesses in Washington State. It is home to hundreds of small businesses including some of Seattle’s best restaurants and shopping.
This neighborhood is one of the city’s most economically and culturally important business districts, as well as Seattle’s historic epicenter for the LGBTQ business and residential community.
Programs and Events
Look for CHBA programs every 3rd Thursday of the month.
Hill Talks
Quarterly in-person networking opportunities where Civic and Community engagement intertwine. The goal of these events is to bring the business owners and operators of the neighborhood together to strengthen connections and collaboration. Two of our annual HillTalks include: a Civic Engagement reception in which primary election candidates come to meet with and hear from the business community and our Who’s Who on Capitol Hill which brings together the larger organizing entities (like the BIAs and Cal Anderson Park Alliance) to share their major initiatives with attendees.
Know Your Neighbors
These gatherings, hosted at local small businesses provide Capitol Hill business and community members an opportunity to share their concerns and learn about Capitol Hill community initiatives offered by the CHBA and other community organizations. Know Your Neighbors Conversations are a great place to learn about the businesses in your community and promote your own business. We’ll share these opportunities through the CHBA newsletter every month and list them on the GSBA website.
Safety and Community Forums
GSBA Capitol Hill’s response to the complex and ever present matter of safety is a monthly facilitate conversation with Capitol Hill stakeholders. This monthly online conversation provides an opportunity to learn about safety initiatives in the neighborhood as well as important community events and networking opportunities. If you are interested in participating in this monthly conversation please contact Laura at laurac@thegsba.org.
