We are thrilled to have Laura Culberg join the GSBA team as our new Membership Development Manager! Laura brings years of unique experience to the company as a small business owner, herself.

“I love small business. I love economic development. I love Seattle and I love Capitol Hill. Having had a business on Capitol Hill for almost 20 years, I was dying to get back here and I have great respect for the work of the GSBA.  My favorite business in Seattle is The SweatBox because I built it. It is a true community hub and a place where people can heal and connect.

This special energy and her familiarity with the area and its growth since the 1990s makes Laura the perfect fit for this role, which will be especially focused to start on growing our relationships with Capitol Hill small businesses and the people who make them special:

“I used to LOVE Pettirosso until they closed. I loved Miki and Yuki’s energy. For the same reason I love Retrofit. Jon and Lori are an inspiration. I’m also a huge fan of the Century Ballroom and Hallie Kuperman. Hallie says “yes” to everything which I think is the sign of a true team player.”

We can’t wait for Laura to hit the streets and start engaging with all of our amazing Capitol Hill members and making fantastic brand-new connections in our thriving neighborhood as well.

“I’m excited about having conversations with businesses about what would make their lives better. I’m excited to be meeting with and connecting people to create stronger networks. I love making connections and learning about people. I’m so excited about all of this. “
