Vote By Mail Will Continue

This year, Washington State filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Postal Service in response to a slate of new requirements for mail-in ballots they introduced at the behest of President Donald Trump. These changes would require states to turn over voter rolls to the federal government before ballots are mailed out.

Luckily, a federal judge in Massachusetts temporarily blocked the U.S.P.S. from changing the rules for voting by mail, ensuring the practice will be protected in time for the 2026 November Midterm Elections.

What’s on the ballot?

Voters will weigh in on several key elections and initiative proposals on November’s ballot. Check out Fuse Washington’s Progressive Voter Guide for more information on your local candidates and issues.

Vote NO on Initiative 001 and Initiative 638

GSBA proudly endorses the campaign against these two initiatives, which threaten to unroll protections for LGBTQ+ students in our state. Initiative 001 rolls back pieces of a law meant to protect students for whom school is one of the only places they can rely on for a safe adult. Check out Gabriel’s op-ed describing his personal story and support for the No Hate in Washington State campaign.

Initiative 638 would subject tens of thousands of girls to invasive and costly medical exams in order to verify their sex for sports participation, in order to exclude 5-10 trans girls statewide from playing on female sports teams.
